Clothourful
This is an exploration about digital clothing behaviours.
Simulations, dynamics, lighting, art direction and animation combined through a digital perspective.
The textures used for this project were made by hand by the graphic craft artist Míriam Ruiz (Handy Colors).
The story behind Clothourful
This is a family story that started with my father opening a little clothing shop in Barcelona, 40 years ago.
I grew up there, playing with coat hangers and mannequins while little by little I started to get familiar with the clothing world.
Years later, I started to get interested by 3D motion design, learning and exploring this vast world for years.
After a lot of work, I’ve decided to make a little tribute to celebrate the 40th anniversary of my father’s little clothing shop with a digital exploration about new ways to use cloth in an abstract environment.
As we said, this was about family, and I’ve been lucky enough to share this project with Míriam Ruiz, that happen to be my partner in life and also a great craft and pattern artist.
From her colorful textures and my digital clothes we’ve created “Clothourful”.
